For years I'd heard of Yaoi and Japanese Manga in general, and never really paid much attention.

I don't know why.

Mostly I like books with scifi and action elements. Angst is nice, but a good fist fight is better!

My romance books fit nicely into those categories. Books I read by other authors fit nicely into those categories. The guys in the Sentries series and in Strays face all sorts of challenges and danger. Through it all they have one another and that is where their true strength originates.

Many of my fellow romance writers also seem to be fans of Yaoi, and I was still clueless. I heard their stories of attending events such as Yaoi-con and marginally paid attention to the discussions between them on the various series and stories and whatnot.

Finally my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to take a look. I've only begun my exploration, but Yaoi looks fun and right up my interest alley! Lots of adventure and action and of course hot guys, well in some cases, hot naughty guys!

I'd love to have some recommendations on good Yaoi to read. I'm still learning all the various terminology. I'm really interested in finding some that are available in digital format and have seen some on Amazon.

Any Yaoi authors interested in sampling my guys who'd like to trade eBooks with me please drop me a line. You must be the author and may pick one of my eBooks in return.

To win one copy of any book off my back list, leave a comment here. This will also enter you in the grand prize drawing for the entire blog hop. Check out the scavenger hunt as well!

Don't forget to check out all the other great authors and fans of both M/M romance and Yaoi HERE. Have fun and good luck!

A big thank you to Hayley B James for this amazing idea and organization!

Gosh, sorry to take so long, I updated my virus and spyware and it changed the settings in my computer and I couldn't access email or other sites. It took me a bit to figure it out. I changed the settings and I'm Baaacck!

So, by very scientific critter toss, the winners are:  Danny and Emily E.  I'll be sending you both an email shortly.

Thanks for participating and for your patience.

I've been trying to figure something deep and meaningful to write for the Hop Against Homophobia and you know what? I'm not deep. So, I'll have to go with blunt honesty.

There has been some internet talk that this Hop was conceived as a marketing ploy. Was it? Don't know, don't care. What I know is this is something I wanted to support for no other reason than homophobia is stupid and it needs to go.

As I was struggling to decide what to write I happened upon this on Facebook...it really touched me.
I began to think about why some people might dislike anyone GLBT, and valid reasons to dislike another person.

Reasons not to like someone: because you have nothing in common, or they're jerks.

However, don't make your judgement based on their gender, or religion or color.

Don't base your judgement on the books you might see on this hop on the gender, or religion or color of the person writing it. Look at the blurbs, read the excerpts. If the plot doesn't appeal, move on. If the writing style isn't what you like, there are others that likely will.

I challenge everyone perusing the sites and blogs on this hop to pay no attention to the name of the author. Don't do to the hundreds of authors in this hop what is being done to all the people in this world who are not straight.

Don't buy my books because that was not my intention for joining this hop. My intention was to point out how wrong it is to base your judgement on another individual simply because of who they may love.

I will happily give to two people an ebook, the winners can pick anything off my backlist. I'll pick the winners next week. Simply comment below.

Enjoy your weekend and remember to do unto others as you'd like done to you.

Elizabeth

For those of you who are new to my site and contests I pick my winners using a highly technical and scientific method I've come to call the Critter Roll!

I put all the names on bits of paper, roll them up and throw them across the living room floor for my two dogs and two cats to chase. I've had to pluck a few winners from the jaws of death--literally--a few times...lol

In celebration of the fact I've survived my cold and I had so many people sign up that I decided this time to go with two winners.

Thanks everyone who played. And thank you for your well wishes and cold cures. I've got enough garlic to keep any self respecting vampire away, drank honey, lemon, wine instead of whiskey (only because I was too darn lazy to go out and buy whiskey). Avacado: check

I was so delighted to see comments that a few of you had also seen me on Gay Days, that's such a fun day. I'm usually there, it's become a favorite of mine and Ethan is such a sweetie.

I loved the scenes you all picked, they are some of my very favorites too.

The winners are:  Stacey Siferd and latisha depoortere!

Congrats to you both. I'll be sending you emails.

Join myself and a few other authors for our Not Quite New Year's Eve chat at the Coffee Romance erotic chat group on Friday Dec 30, Noon to 6 PM Eastern US time for more opportunities to win free things. You'll need to join ahead of time to participate.

Hope to see you there and have a great and most importantly safe holiday season.

I have the cold from hell right now, so am at a loss as to any cute and clever questions soooo....how about comment with some favorite tidbit from one of my books (or the excerpts or the free read offered here and Sunday, if I survive, I'll pick two winners who can have their choice of any one of my titles.

Gosh I hope this makes sense.

I  had another thought, but I lost it, so if it comes back I'll post that too.

Happy Reading and Happy Holidays! Don't forget to click on the little poster t o the right and visit other blogs in the hop for great gifts.
