 My snippet this week is from Electric Candle, book 2 of The Sleepless City. Series co-written with Anne Barwell.  Lucas pointed to the screen. “There’s a cluster of the hidden rooms along this stretch of shore.” He made a circle over the screen with one finger. “First victim here.” He indicated a spot near the lake. “Another one here.” “And the werewolf was here.” Forge pointed at the screen. “Where that first man was found is also where I saw Blair the first time, and the cambion.” “The cambion followed you before it followed Blair,” Lucas said. He started to pace back and forth behind Forge. “What does something collecting sperm look for? It looks for traits it wants. You and Blair don’t look at all alike.” “But you’re both good-looking guys and appear healthy and in shape,” Ben said. Lucas stopped and twisted on his heels, pointing at Ben. “Exactly! So were the murdered men and the werewolf. We start where you first saw the cambion and Blair. That’s where it led you to and had its first look at Blair.” “You were a target,” Ben said. Simon added, “It figured out you were a cop and maybe a vampire and not worth its effort.” He looked at Lucas. “How do you fit things together like that?” There are plenty more snippets to read in the Rainbow Snippets Facebook group.
