My snippet this week is from Quarry, book 2 of The Vampire Guard. “Every crime scene had an open, partially drunk bottle of Bushmills with an empty glass sitting beside it. They had traces of the whiskey in each one,” Forge said. “No fingerprints and no DNA ever found, at least that we could use. Nothing but a few drops of whiskey,” Lucas added. “It’s why I asked if there was a way to know what was in the whiskey glass in the videos.” “That was one piece of information never released to anyone other than those directly involved with the investigations.” Forge let go of Blair and leaned back in his chair, then poured another glass of beer. “It was one way of weeding out copycats. A common practice among police everywhere.” “No respectable thief would be inebriated during a heist. They’d be a fool to try,” Declan said. “Enough was missing out of each bottle to definitely give someone at least a buzz.” Forge tipped his glass at them. “Provided it was someone who could be affected by alcohol.” Quarry is available in eBook, paperback, through Kindle Unlimited and your local library digital catalog. There are more snippets in the Rainbow Snippets Facebook group.
