My Rainbow Snippet today is from Electric Candle, book 2 of The Sleepless City (series cowritten with Anne Barwell). Blair drank, suppressing a shudder from the taste and feel of the blood. When he was done, he grabbed one of the bottles of soda Forge had brought up and gulped it down in a few swallows to get rid of the flavor of blood. “I hate having to do that and being some freak of a monster.” Forge had moved on to something with noodles and shrimp. His hand, holding a fork, stopped en route to his mouth. He set the food down. “Is that what you think? Do you think I’m a monster?” “No! You’re a police detective! You fought in wars because you thought it was the right thing to do! You’re a hero. That’s good. Will all that restore your soul?” “Blair, I don’t know about souls, but I’m sure if you believe in them, you have one. You’re not undead, hell, you’re not even dead. And trust me, I’m no hero. Not by a long shot.” Read more snippets in the Rainbow Snippets Facebook group. Electric Candle is available in eBook, paperback
and through Kindle Unlimited. Comments are closed.
