My teaser this week is from Whiskey and Moonshine! When Colt was trying to convince them he was the perfect choice, it all seemed like a great idea. However, he’d never been around this much wealth, and except for what he’d picked up these past weeks since he’d been here, he knew very little about the production of spirits. Maybe he was out of his league. “Should he use an accent similar to mine?” Mr. Kensington asked. He, like Audrey, had a soft Southern accent. “Your voice is deeper. It’s nice,” Colt observed. Mr. Kensington smiled softly at him. “Thank you.” “I don’t think so. Unless someone has a very exotic accent, I’m not sure people pay much attention,” Mr. Grice pointed out. “Pretending he’s from this area will likely backfire on us at some point. It’s better to avoid something like that from the beginning.” “He will need a new wardrobe,” Audrey added. “Gwendolyn will need Colt’s measurements so she can do some shopping for him.” Gwendolyn nodded. “I need to get a few things. I’ll be back before Phillipe is finished with his hair.” She hurried from the room. More of Colt’s dark hair fell to the floor. It had a nice shine in the light, and the individual hairs were on the thicker side with a little wave. Phillipe took a spray bottle and spritzed Colt’s hair, then cut more. He worked from back to front. After a few minutes, he stood in front of Colt, lifted his chin, spritzed again, and combed Colt’s hair down to cover his face before Colt heard the gentle clip of scissors. The strands that fell to the floor weren’t nearly as long as the ones Phillipe cut from the back of Colt’s head. It didn’t take long before Phillipe was turning Colt’s head again. Audrey and Mr. Kensington moved around so they stood in front of them. Audrey put her tablet down and stood staring with Mr. Kensington, who crossed one arm across his middle and braced his other elbow against it with his chin in his palm, watching. When Philippe blow-dried Colt’s hair, using a brush to flip his hair around, Audrey gasped, and Mr. Kensington’s eyes widened. Whiskey and Moonshine is on sale this week! The eBook is $3.99 and the paperback is $9.99. It's available in Kindle Unlimited as well.
This week the Tuesday Teaser is from Quarry! It's available for pre-order and is on sale for $3.49. “Another glass just vanished,” Forge said. This time he took the tablet and replayed a portion of the video. “Off the tray that man is carrying around. Same thing, whiskey glass with what looks like whiskey in it.”
“Let’s try this one. It wasn’t held here but in Germany.” Blair loaded another one and again they finally saw a whiskey glass vanish off a bar. “Looks like whoever it was got pretty chatty with the bartender,” Lucas said. He sighed and leaned his elbows on the tabletop. “You know, using electronic means to aid in a big heist and one of the only solid clues was the type of whiskey the thief drank sure sounds familiar.” He looked at Forge. Forge nodded. “I was thinking the same thing. This story is getting old.” Declan looked between them. “You’ve run into this before?” Holding up two fingers, Forge mouthed the word, “Twice.” He turned the tablet to face him and played another video, stopping it where another glass vanished from a man’s hand. “In fact, it was the first case Lucas and I ever worked on together in the police department.” He turned to Blair and smiled softly. “Your dad was in on it as well.” “Yeah?” Blair’s interest was definitely piqued. He sometimes forgot Forge had known and worked with Robert Turner, an FBI agent, and knew things about him Blair probably didn’t. “It was also about the time when things got a little…warm for me in Ohio, and I left for Europe,” Declan said. “’Cause the big guy here”—Lucas play-punched Forge’s shoulder—“was a cop and you’re—” “Not a cop,” Declan interjected and chuckled. “Yes. Jonas was very entrenched in Boggslake’s police department then, and it was better my face wasn’t seen for a while.” “First time in about a hundred years that when you left for other parts, I didn’t go with you,” Forge added. “Most importantly it was the first time a werewolf and a vampire worked together on something, publicly no less. At least in that part of the world—that we were aware of. Not only did we work together, we hung out at his house, almost living in sin.” Lucas snatched an onion ring and ate it. Forge rolled his eyes and Lucas snagged another onion ring and said, “Rocked the bedrock of social conventions and was a huge scandal!” Blair grabbed an onion ring and stuck it in his mouth, grinning as he chewed. “So, are you going to tell us how you two changed the course of history and all?” “I figured you could start working out on Sig. You know, to get back into things.” Val stopped and glanced around the room again, looking for some sign even though Wyatt wasn’t in this room, possibly he was in the building. “Has your dad been in to see you?” He rubbed the back of his head and didn’t meet Janelle’s gaze.
“He’s been in every day, but today he said he had some work to do.” Janelle shrugged. “You just missed him by about a half hour.” She took a sip from a glass of water on a table beside her bed, lifting her eyebrows and watching Val as she drank. “So whatcha been up to?” Val shrugged. “Work. Nothing exciting. Did you hear any more from the cops?” “No. Have you gotten out of the house at all, other than to go to work and come here?” “I went and watched the horses,” Val said and grinned. “You need to go out and have some fun,” Janelle said. Val leaned back in his chair and stretched. “You’re right.” “But? And I’m always right.” Val laughed, but didn’t have a ready answer for her. He stayed until visiting hours were over then headed for home, looking forward to the time he’d have his friend back. He was doubly looking forward to watching her race again. Val hadn’t realized how much he’d come to enjoy watching the horses train, then watching them in actual races, and he immensely missed seeing his friend ride in races. Somehow horse races weren’t the same without Janelle being one of the jockeys. It was after dark when he arrived home and was surprised, then delighted to find Wyatt’s car sitting in his drive. Wyatt sat inside, with the window open and his arm bent and resting on the door frame. He waved casually and got out of the car as Val parked his truck. “I hope you don’t mind me just showing up?” Wyatt sounded hesitant, almost shy. “No, not at all,” Val said. Wyatt wore khakis and a polo shirt with the first few buttons opened. He had a sports jacket with him, but it was flung over one shoulder. Val’s heart stuttered a few beats as he watched the muscles of Wyatt’s arms slide under his skin. Normally he wore a sports jacket or longer sleeves, and Val hadn’t noticed how well built Wyatt’s arms and shoulders were. Val decided right then and there, he definitely had a thing for older men. “I was kind of hoping you hadn’t had dinner yet and would like to join me.” As Val got closer, he picked up a hint of cologne and saw a soft sheen on Wyatt’s salt-and-pepper hair, still damp from a recent shower. Warmth curled around Val’s belly and nestled between his legs and in his balls. “Um…I mean, I’d like to, but…you don’t….” Val’s throat and mouth were too dry for him to talk properly. Wyatt stepped closer, reached out with his free hand, and ran his palm lightly down Val’s arm to his hand, then took it and applied light pressure before he let go. “Val. I’m asking if you’d like to have dinner with me. For no other reason than I’d love to spend a few hours with you. And I’m hungry.” This week for Tuesday Teaser I have an excerpt from Collared Souls (Sentries Book 4). When two of the guards took a position on either side of Todd and one pulled Todd’s hands behind his back to cuff him again, Nick couldn’t stay still any longer. A huge bubble formed inside his chest, threatening to burst through his ribs. His guts tightened down, and he couldn’t pull in enough air for a decent breath. Lurching forward a few steps, heading for his mate, Nick garbled, “No. We’re sentries!” Raleigh laughed, loud and obnoxious. “You think that matters to me?” “Since sentries are the people who can get rid of the scum he uses, all the more reason to get rid of us, Nick,” Todd said. He yanked his arms away from the guard, took a step closer to Nick, and waved his hands in a come-here gesture. One of the guards sidestepped, blocking Nick’s path and shoving him back. The other guard grabbed both of Todd’s arms, stopping him from going any farther. Moving fast, Witze got between them, holding both hands out. “Quit,” he snapped at the guards. “Give them a minute.” Turning to Raleigh, Witze shook his head. “They’re not going anywhere. Todd’s already given his word. Let them say goodbye.” “Witze, your sentimentality is nauseating.” Raleigh nodded at the guards. “Let them go, but any suspicious moves, shoot them both.” Nick didn’t waste time. The second the guards’ hands were off him, he closed the distance between him and Todd and stopped when Todd’s hands came to rest on either side of Nick’s face, holding him so Nick was forced to look only at Todd. “Nick, you listen to me. Go with Mr. Witze and do what he tells you to, okay?” For a split second, Todd’s gaze flicked to Witze before coming back to hold Nick’s. Nick could do no more than nod. His throat was too tight, and there was no way he was going to let Raleigh hear the wet, broken quality his voice would have if he spoke aloud. “That’s my boy.” Todd pulled Nick closer, pressing a kiss to his forehead, then cheek, before wrapping both arms around him and pulling him in for a tight hug. Nick bent his head so his face pressed to Todd’s shoulder, sucked in a shuddering breath, and nodded again. He turned his head a bit to the side when Todd whispered in his ear. My teaser this Tuesday comes from Jewel Cave, part of the Circles romantic mystery/suspense/thriller series. Clint took a few steps closer to the french doors. Phoenix stood in the middle of the living room, ruff and tail puffed out. He didn’t make a sound, but his attention was riveted to the kitchen and side door. “Griff?” Where is my phone? He’d had it in the kitchen while he made coffee. The goddamn phone’s still on the counter. All at once jumbled thoughts began charging through Clint’s head. Dogs don’t act like that with someone they know. That was followed by things Griff had told him over the years: “Don’t let on to an intruder there are guns in the house.” “Lamps, keys, even a pen is a good weapon.” “Cooperate.” “If you have the chance, take it and run.” “Look them in the eye.” “Don’t let anyone get you into a vehicle if you can help it.” “Make noise.” “Hey, cut this shit out right now!” Clint shouted as loud as he could. It was nice outside, the windows were open. Someone would hear him. Fern ducked behind his legs. Phoenix didn’t move. Clint looked around for something—anything—to use as a weapon. A creak came from the far side of the house. He could only see part of the kitchen and not through to the side door. Had the noise come from the landing, the basement steps, or the steps to the kitchen? Clint held his breath. From the corner of his eye, he caught sight of the signed baseball bat resting on a stand on top of his office shelves. It had been a housewarming gift from his grandmother when he and Griff had moved in. He could do a lot of damage with a baseball bat. Unfortunately, to get to the bat, he’d have to go back into his office and would lose the advantage of being able to see most of the kitchen and all of the living room. He had two choices: stand there and watch whoever was in the house come at him, or arm himself with a weapon he could use. Clint opted for arming himself. Moving as quietly and as quickly as possible, he stepped back into his office, mentally cursing when he hit a squeaky floorboard. He was almost close enough to reach up and grab his prize when he felt a presence behind him. My taboo offering is from Home Coming, book one of Pain and Pleasure. Taren lightly smacked Ian’s ass with his hand. “You’ll probably want to hang on.” Ian barely had time to grab at the bars attached to the upper part of the cross before Taren removed the ice pack, codpiece, and plug. All were dropped onto the floor a few feet away. An enema blub, slick from lube, was pushed steadily into his ass. Ian heard the soft lob-lob as Taren squeezed the attached pump and filled the bulb, keeping it snug in Ian's ass. Ian bit his lip, fighting the urge to rock onto his toes. Ian knew the bottle of liquid Taren would attach held nearly half a liter. Taren used both hands on the bottle and squirted vinegar water into Ian with enough force Ian felt every bit of it as the stream blasted and cleansed his insides. Ian liked it the best that way. He allowed himself the luxury of a moan when the sharp, quick sting of pulsating liquid sluiced through him. With one of Taren’s big hands on his shoulder, Ian waddled to the bathroom to complete his clean out. Once Ian was prepared, he was guided back to the cross. He stepped up, gripped the bars again and rested his chest against the padded center piece. Taren took lube and a butt plug with three bulbs from the low equipment table against the wall. New batteries were inserted and Taren took up his position behind Ian, out of sight once again. As Taren inserted the plug, he turned it slowly, one way then another. Each of the bulbs was bigger than the one before it and the topmost bulb was elongated to a blunt, tapered end. The entire thing was curved in just the right way so his prostate would be constantly prodded. Once in place, Ian heard a faint click when Taren had turned on the device. Ian’s spine straightened without any commands from his brain and a shudder rippled through him when the low-level vibrations began. He’d be hard as a rock soon. Taren’s hands on his hips turned Ian so he was leaning back against the cross. Moving quickly, a thin, ribbed steel bar was covered with surgical lubricant and inserted into Ian’s slit. It attached to a narrow ring that fit snugly around Ian’s shaft just under his glans and was long enough to jab at his prostate. Tuesday Teaser My Tuesday Teaser this week is from Chained Hearts (book 3 of Sentries) Someone--something—had ahold of Nick’s shoulders, spun him around and shook him—hard. Nick blinked and rubbed at his eyes. Todd let go of Nick and moved back. He rubbed his jaw while sliding it side to side. “Ow. Christ, who taught you to hit so hard?” “I…you…I didn’t mean…Todd, I’m sorry.” He’d hit Todd? His mate. His master. The thought made his stomach turn and his head pound. Yet, nearly every night Nick relived driving a knife into the creature’s neck and severing its head that wore Todd’s face before he’d watched it roll away, eyes open and staring. Each nightly show his subconscious put on was ten times worse than his final fight with the kelbit had been and even more frightening. Nick shuddered. “Nicky, come on…come here.” Todd pulled him close again. “Stop this. It’s okay. We’re okay. Tell me about them, everything.” Sighing, Nick straightened, leaning away from Todd far enough to look out at the trees for a minute. He nodded slowly. “They’re always the same. The kelbit comes after me, just like it did at the Chancellor’s Estate, but then it gets worse. I can’t get away, and what it does…it goes a lot further. There are two in my dreams and the one still alive is pissed we killed her mate. Then…” His voice cracked, and he shivered again. “Then I have to kill it--kill you. I can see that thing’s head with your face on it coming off the body and rolling away. Watching me, always watching me.” Todd rubbed up and down Nick’s spine. It felt good, and Nick relaxed into the strength of Todd’s hand and gentleness of his touch. “Nicky, you have to let it go. For me, please?” Winding his arms around Todd’s middle, Nick swallowed down his fear and memories, nodded, and nestled against Todd, hanging on tight and relaxing when Todd’s arms pressed in close, holding him just as tightly. “I’m trying. It doesn’t want to let go of me.” JMS Books ~|~ Amazon ~|~ Kobo Taboo Tuesday Taboo Tuesday is from Scintilla! WEREWOLF AND HUMAN! KNOTTING! SEXY TIMES WITH ELECTRICITY! Instead Raul backed off just before Brandon’s orgasm hit. Twice he tried to reach around and touch Raul’s heavy thigh. Twice he was given a warning growl that made his balls tighten and his cock ache. Leaning farther back in the water, Raul slowly paddled them to the side of the pool. Watching the stars move so quickly made Brandon slightly dizzy and forced him to focus on the tingling waves coursing over his flesh with each of Raul’s movements. The scratch of one talon began at his groin and traveled to his chest making Brandon gasp and try to arch his back. Raul held firm and retraced his path back to Brandon’s inner thigh. His entire body thrummed and vibrated despite the fact he could barely move his arms and legs. He had the fleeting thought of how jealous Ed would be right now. Brandon felt a gentle bump. They must’ve reached the pool’s edge. Raul’s hands moved. Brandon’s field flowed with his movements sending powerful waves of lust through him. Raul hoisted him up. He positioned Brandon face down on a cushion at the pool’s edge with his legs still floating in the water. Raul massaged Brandon’s ass cheeks, kneading slowly and methodically while spreading his legs wide. Brandon gasped, unable to catch his breath when Raul’s tongue snaked over his balls and across his ass to the base of his spine. Over and over Raul’s tongue slipped between Brandon’s cheeks, swirled around his entrance, sliding in and out. Everything about Raul as a werewolf seemed built for claiming his partner in whatever manner he chose. His saliva was better than any man-made lubricant. The ability to keep his urges at bay until he was ready to let go never ceased to amaze Brandon. Raul had an uncanny way of keeping all his power and desire pent up until just the right moment for release. It was heady stuff, knowing Raul’s strength and dominance was channeled toward Brandon, and Brandon alone. Ed would definitely be extremely jealous. Brandon felt Raul pull himself out the water before he gripped each of Brandon’s wrists and hovered over him. There was a gentle grip of teeth at the back of Brandon’s neck seconds before Raul’s cock pushed into him while Brandon pushed his ass up and back to meet Raul. It had taken a while for them to get to this point, where Raul could take him while shifted. His knots bulged, much larger than when he was predominantly human. He thrust in with short, intense bursts, the throbbing along Raul’s dick and knots turned Brandon’s brain to mush. His consciousness reeled and Brandon descended further into the sensations, he closed his eyes and his mind lapsed into currents of euphoria. His entire world narrowed down to the intense and rhythmic pulsing from Raul’s body. Brandon bit the cushion to muffle his moans. Raul had him pinned down in such a way there was constant pressure on his cock, but no friction. Scintilla is available on Amazon and is in Kindle Unlimited. My Tuesday Teaser today is from Strays, a scifi/romance. More people were rushing at the shore from the vans, having shed their assault uniforms. Pierre let go and Daniel reached the water slapping on the shore as the diver surfaced, Kyle dangling from his arms, coughing and sputtering. When his feet touched on the sand, Kyle stumbled away from the diver and at Daniel. Someone was shouting for blankets and dry clothes. Someone else was calling for one of the vans to be brought closer. Grabbing Kyle’s arm, Daniel started yanking on his jacket and sweatshirt, pulling them off. “You need this stuff off now.” “H-her-re, in fr-fr-front of every-bo-o-dy?” Kyle grinned but let Daniel tug his clothes off. “Shut it! What the hell stupid thing were you thinking?” He looked around. “I need blankets over here now!” Kyle’s teeth were chattering and the second he was stripped from the waist up, he wrapped both arms around his chest, hugging himself. His abs sucked inward, giving a concave look to his form, curving up in a smooth line to his expanding and contracting chest. Pierre rushed up, Daniel’s gear slung over one arm. He must have gone back and retrieved it once Kyle was out of the water and Daniel in no danger of going in after him. “This kid of yours is a real trooper, Dan.” “He’s not my—” Daniel turned to snap at him, but looked back and saw Kyle’s face. All of his anger flooding out of him, replaced by relief and a surge of pride. Daniel put his hand on the back of Kyle’s neck. “He sure is.” Giving Kyle’s neck a squeeze, he nodded at him. “You did good.” Kyle grinned like a loon. Digging in his pocket, he pulled his hand out and extended it, palm up. “I- I- I- g-g-g-got-t it-t,” Kyle announced between the chattering of his teeth. Strays is available on Amazon and is in Kindle Unlimited. My teaser this week comes from Together Bound, book 2 of Sentries. Todd had heard the rumors and stories of special slaves, a group kept secret by the government for years and had no idea how Nick or his ability were involved, if at all. Todd wasn’t even sure he completely believed all the rumors, which were sketchy at best. Even those rumors couldn’t explain this.
Mind racing, he went through scenario after scenario, not wanting to face any of them and completely panicked by the realization he’d have to face them all. Pounding on the front door made him start and gulp air into his constricting lungs. Three days, the letter said three days; why was someone here now? It took a few seconds for him to process that someone on the other side of the door was calling his name and it was a voice he recognized. Todd staggered from the kitchen to the front door, and yanked it open without checking to see who it was, something he’d never done before. Apparently, Nick wasn’t the only one who was going to freak. Todd was well into his own freak-out. His vision swam, and he stood staring at the man in front of him for a few more seconds before croaking, “Jimmy?” The older man brushed past him and into the apartment before shutting the door firmly behind him. Hands gripping Todd’s shoulders hard, Jimmy gave Todd a slight shake as his eyes scanned the apartment. “Where’s Nick?” “They can’t do this!” Todd backed up a step. “No one can do this. They can’t just take him. Can they?” Jimmy’s hands dropped to his sides. “Hell, kid, I wouldn’t have thought so. I don’t know. Todd, where is he?” “Eminent domain is for property, to build roads and hospitals. Not to take people.” “Todd! Where the hell is Nick?” Blinking, Todd lifted his gaze from the paper in his hand to Jimmy’s face. “He’s…it’s Sunday.” Jimmy literally snarled at him. Shaking his head, Todd cleared his throat and concentrated. “It’s Sunday. When we’re in town, we get breakfast at a café near here. He went to pick it up. That’s where I get the coffee you and Nick like so much. Nicky loves the coffee…” Todd’s voice trailed off. Did Jimmy mean to imply they’d snatched Nick off the street? My teaser this weeks is from Electric Candle, book 2 of The Sleepless City, a paranormal romance/urban fantasy series written with Anne Barwell. Forge dragged in a deep breath, stepped back, and sat on the bed, pulling Blair into the vee created by his thighs. “Particularly because you’re not Declan.” He took another deep breath and squeezed Blair’s hand. “I’ve spent a large part of my life trying to convince myself I didn’t need or want a soulmate. I had Declan and he was enough for me. The truth is, I never succeeded. I love Declan, that will never change, but he and I can never have the type of bond you and I have. I know I tried denying it, but I like that bond, and it feels good. I was an ass to try to convince myself otherwise.” He stopped and bit his lower lip before continuing. “It wasn’t fair to you. When I thought you might die, I felt like a huge piece of me had been ripped up and shredded.” Blair thumped his solar plexus. “Just thinking about going back and being in that house alone makes it hurt, here. All my dad’s things are in New Mexico. They’re all I have left of him. Almost everything I own is there.” “Hear me out. A long time ago a man, Declan, showed me kindness and taught me to be a person again. Hell, even the wild animals didn't want to be around me. Declan loved me and protected me and cared for me during a time I desperately needed that. He made me see that being a homosexual wasn’t a sin. Most importantly, he was taught to be a vampire. In turn he taught me to be a vampire. “You need to learn how to be a vampire. Let me teach you. We'll work this bonding thing out, or figure out how to break it, if that's what you want. I only want you to be happy. Let me, or Simon or both of us, teach you about what being a vampire is. There's a lot of good that goes with what we are.” Forge snickered. “A lot of cool stuff. The point is, you lived in isolation and you don’t have to do that. There’s no reason you can’t play on a softball team or have a dog. You have a family in us, even if you’re halfway around the world. We take care of each other.” “Like Declan lived on another continent for a while?” “Yeah, exactly like that.” “I like it here,” Blair confessed. “Your friend was right. This town grows on you. I didn’t realize how lonely I was until I came for a visit. I wouldn’t mind staying a little longer, but I’m not committing to moving here, not yet. And if I do stay, I might get my own place.” Forge’s eyebrows went up, but he didn’t argue. Blair knew he sensed that regardless of what Blair said, his heart screamed at him to stay. Even he didn’t believe his own words. “That’s fair. We can deal with getting whatever you’d like shipped here in the meantime. People have been packing their stuff and moving since way before I was born.” “That’s a really long time,” Blair said and smiled. “Did they use stone wheels?” “Smart-ass.” “No promises.” Blair took a deep breath. “Well, the sex is decent.” “Decent?” Forge arched an eyebrow. “Pretty awesome for an old guy like you,” Blair said. Forge laughed and pulled him down for another kiss. “Yes, it is. And if you don’t like Declan, it’s okay.” Blair tilted his head to the side and watched Forge for a few seconds. “I want to like him. I want him to like me, and I’ll do everything I can to make that happen. You two are important to each other. He will always have known you longer, and there isn’t anything about you that he doesn’t know. I guess the three of us are sort of a package deal.” Forge stood and pulled Blair in for another kiss and a hug. “You’re a good person, Blair. Better than I deserve.” “Nah… you’re a hero, and heroes get the best.” All four books in the series are available on Amazon
and in Kindle Unlimited. My teaser this week is from my new release, Code Name Jack Rabbit!
Blair sucked in a breath and rubbed one ear with his palm. Lucas grabbed the device and switched it off in a hurry. “So, some sort of ultrasonic signal.” He pulled a small clear-plastic evidence bag containing one of the scales from his pocket. “Can you tell me about this?” “Where did you get this?” Bronwen asked. “From the hull of your damaged boat,” Lucas said without skipping a beat. “I saw the DNA sequencing for this thing.” Bronwen looked from Lucas to Blair. “I can’t…. Mr. Grier….” “You don’t have to be afraid of him anymore. He’s in jail and staying there,” Blair said. “What did he do that made you so afraid of him?” “You wouldn’t believe me. It sounds crazy. No one would believe me.” She sat in the seat beside Blair. “Try us,” Lucas said. Bronwen focused on him for a second. “Who are you, exactly?” “Oh, I’m a medical examiner.” “You know about the genetic sequence for that scale. A medical examiner for who? The NSA?” Lucas rubbed the back of his neck. “Boggslake PD.” He pulled out his wallet and showed her his police ID. “You kept asking me if I believed in mythological creatures. Was Grier one?” Blair asked. “His eyes and fingers would change and he’d get teeth like a wolf,” Bronwen said. “It’s crazy, I know, and I have no idea how he did it, but—” She shook her head. “It sounds insane, and I don’t blame anyone for thinking I’m unbalanced.” Lucas looked around the dock, assuring himself they weren’t being watched, and turned so his back was to the marina. He began to unbutton his shirt. “What are you doing?” Bronwen’s voice rose, and she began inching out of the seat. “Don’t panic.” His voice was deeper, gravelly, and he had to speak more slowly after he changed just far enough he could still talk. Lucas kept his gaze riveted to her. As his facial features changed, long hair sprouted from his hands and chest, and his body shape morphed, Bronwen gripped her seat so hard her knuckles went white. Her breathing sped up, and Lucas smelled sweat more prominently than if it was just from the weather. Bronwen’s eyes widened and her jaw dropped. “You’re like him." |
