 Hello! This week my snippet is from Electric Candle, book 2 of The Sleepless City. The series is cowritten with Anne Barwell.  Suddenly, a wave of unbridled terror ripped through Forge as he ran. He stumbled and would have gone face-first into the grass had Lucas not caught his arm. “Forge, what’s—” Shouting, then clenching his teeth, Forge pressed one hand to the small of his back and dropped to his knees. For a few seconds, his vision darkened and he gasped desperately for air. He gripped Lucas’s hand, too afraid to let go. “What’s going on? Forge, talk to me!” Lucas sounded more panicked than Forge had ever heard. “Call…the house. Get Simon to…” Forge ground out. Another flash and searing pain screamed up his spine and made him let go of Lucas, pitching forward. He tore at the grass with both hands, shuddering.
