 My snippet this week is from Code Name Jack Rabbit (The Vampire Guard book 1).  “Lucas, listen to me. I’ve been with you before when the full moon hit. Remember, you’re my partner, a best friend, and I love you as if you were my little brother. Please don’t rip my arm off.” Forge spoke slowly and evenly. Lucas smiled and nodded. “I promise.” “Okay, then.” Forge grabbed their toolbox, pulled out a spray can, and shook it. “Wolf up for a minute.” Pulling in a deep breath, Lucas straightened and changed far enough that he was covered with fur. Putting his hands in the air, he turned a slow circle while Forge sprayed a fine mist over him. “What’s that?” Blair asked. “Phosphorous spray,” Forge explained. “It’ll glow in the dark when a light is shined on it. If Grier gets loose, it’ll be a battle to the death. I’ve got a rifle with the ammo needed to kill a werewolf. I don’t want to put the wrong one down. Besides, it stinks. Changing may addle their brains, but it makes their noses a hundred times better. Grier knows my scent. Hopefully, he’ll smell only Declan and not me.
