Rainbow Snippets January 28, 2018

This comes from my second WIP, an urban fantasy romance. The series is El Corazon and book one is Scintilla.

Raul is a werewolf. Brandon a magical human known as a Scintilla.

“He had business in Sahuarita this morning,” Brandon said to the laptop. “Maybe…?”

Brandon put one finger against the flash drive port and closed his eyes, concentrating.

Shouldn’t use my power for evil.

Except he wasn’t. He was using it for self-gain. How was that any different than the way his ability had been used for profit by his parents his entire life?

It wasn’t.

A few minutes of time circumventing fire walls and impressive security for a small-town police department, Brandon knew that Raul needed to collect his fee for the centaur he’d delivered yesterday. According to Raul’s e-mail he’d be stopping at the bail bond office in about an hour.

Considering all the things he could do with a power like that, I imagine he's in danger as much as he's in demand.

I've never really considered before what tough moral choices come with having that kind of power. Still, at least he seems to be weighing it up. That's a good sign.

Very interesting bit of introspection and I liked the line about the centaur, conjures up neat images.

Elizabeth Noble

Mystery, action, chills, and thrills spiced with romance and desire. ELIZABETH NOBLE lives by the adage "I can't not write." She doesn't remember a time when she didn't make up stories and eventually she learned how to put words on a page. Elizabeth is a fan of baseball, basketball (go Cavs and Cleveland Baseball) and gardening. She can often be found working in her 'outside office' listening to classic rock and plotter her next novel waiting for it to be dark enough to gaze at the stars.

Elizabeth has received a number of amateur writing awards. Since being published, several of her novels have received Honorable Mentions in the Rainbow Awards. Jewel Cave was a runner-up in the Gay Mystery/Thriller category in the 2015 Rainbow Awards. Ringed Love was a winner in the Gay Fantasy Romance category of the 2016 Rainbow Awards.
